Get to know the whole exhaust system

The manifold collects the exhaust gases from the engine cylinders. It is connected to the exhaust ports on the engine cylinders.

The exhaust pipe carries the exhaust gases from the manifold to the muffler. It is connected to the manifold and the muffler.

The flex pipe connects the exhaust pipe to the muffler and helps to absorb vibrations.

The muffler reduces the noise of the exhaust gases. It is connected to the tailpipe.

The catalytic converter converts harmful pollutants in the exhaust gases into less harmful substances.

The tailpipe releases the exhaust gases into the atmosphere.

The oxygen sensors measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases and send this information to the engine computer. They are located in the exhaust pipe, upstream and downstream of the catalytic converter.

The resonator is a chamber that helps to reduce noise from the exhaust gases. It is located between the muffler and the tailpipe.

The clamps hold the different parts of the exhaust system together. The gaskets seal the joints between the different parts of the exhaust system. They are both used to connect all of the different parts of the exhaust system together.
